M1

M1 Junctions

The M1 runs from Staples Corner in north-west London to the edge of Leeds, where it joins the A1(M). We have a page for every junction because most people's M1 journey starts and ends at one or two of them: the junction near home, the one by work, or the one they come off to see family or visit somewhere.

Each page is written for the people who use that junction: commuters, delivery and lorry drivers, families, and visitors finding their way. It shows a close-up map of the junction, a wider map of the towns and places around it, the junctions either side, and what our own records of National Highways data show has been happening there. Each page links straight to the live M1 speed flow map and the latest M1 traffic news.

We check these overhead signs at least every five minutes, but we can't guarantee a sign is still current if an incident or issue has been cleared and the sign has not been updated yet. Signs and news can each carry something the other does not - check both before you travel.
