Map of M1 Junctions 14 to 19: Northampton and Catthorpe

From Milton Keynes the M1 heads north through open Northamptonshire countryside, round the edge of Northampton and up to Catthorpe, where the M6 and the A14 join at junction 19. Watford Gap, one of the oldest service areas in the country, sits between junctions 16 and 17, and the M45 leaves for Coventry at junction 17.

This is the M1's freight country, with the rail terminal at Crick and the warehouses of Daventry close by. Long-distance drivers changing motorway at Catthorpe will find the junctions in order here, with the towns either side.

The road on the map is coloured by the live traffic flow speed, the same data as our live M1 traffic flow map. Choose northbound or southbound above the map. Tap any junction number to open that junction’s own page.

Showing live speeds northbound. The map shows one direction at a time; tap the other button to switch. For both directions side by side, with every sign and incident, see the live M1 speed flow map.
