Junction 33 at Catcliffe links the M1 to the A630 Sheffield Parkway, the fast route into Sheffield city centre, and to Rotherham, about two miles north. The Catcliffe Glass Cone is under a mile south-west. Rotherham General Hospital is about a mile north. Magna Science Adventure Centre and Meadowhall are both within about two and a half miles.

The Advanced Manufacturing Park and the businesses along the Sheffield Parkway bring engineers, office workers and suppliers to this junction every day.
